Ned E. Dennis, 66, manager of the Danville, Ill plant of Meadow Gold Ice Cream Co for 20 years and brother of Mrs. Lula Maxey of Veedersburg, died unexpectedly at his home at 3:15 p.m. Wednesday Sept 21. Death was from natural causes. He was stricken ill while repairing a ventilator on a flat roof at his residence 3605 N Vermilion St, where he had lived 21 years. Mr. Dennis was born in Danville Dec 20, 1899, the son of Harry A. and Emma L. Vannatta Dennis. He was a member of St. James Methodist Church, Danville Rotary Club, Olive Branch Masonic Lodge, Danville Scottish Rite, Gao Grotto and Danville Elks Lodge. Surviving in addition to his wife are one daughter, Mrs. John (Barbara) Cooke of Danville; three grandchildren; his father, Harry A. Dennis of Danville; one brother, Charles of Indianapolis; and four sisters, Mrs. Ruth Lane of Detroit, Mich; Mrs. Leona Hummer of Danville; Mrs. Maxey of Veedersburg and Mrs. Bernice Sears of Mexico City, Mex. Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. Friday at St. James Methodist Church in Danville, the Rev. Paul Curry officiated. Burial with Pape Memorial Home in charge was in Spring Hill Cemetery, Danville.
